Seems to be a new FB thing. I stil don't know how to do it, but my 2nd cousin on Mum's side did it for me, admittedly from a very old photo, and I thought it was her. I always thought that I got my face from Dad.
I have a teeny bit of Viking blood - well, Danish anyway. My surname is very common in Denmark, there's a town with my name and my male cousin, son of my father's brother, had 14% Scandinavian on his DNA test. There's quite a history of seafaring in the family - not me though, I get seasick!

I have a bit of Viking blood from Dad. Granny's Granny came from Shetland. And I don't get seasick!
My wife is from Shetland…….She don’t get sea sick either!
Apparently anyone with Dupuytren's contracture (a sort of claw finger thing) is supposed to have some Scandinavian ancestry too. My Dad's brother had it but Dad dodged it.

My sister did her DNA and assuming we both have the same father 😁...
7.9% Scandinavian and 2.4% Finnish though I don't think there were Finnish Vikings.
That makes sense though as both parents have western Isles and Sutherland in their mix.
The rest was 54.1 Scottish/Irish/Welsh (Celtic) and 36% English (Anglo-Saxon)
The Anglo Saxon could have come from our Welsh Grandfather or from our Fathers maternal farming side in Fife....or maybe from a bunch of pillaging redcoats. She didn't find any long lost English relatives.
Pretty standard mix for these Isles, really. I'm sure people who are from what was the Danelaw would have a similar Scandinavian percentage.

This is beginning to sound like a yankee forum where they all clamour to find out if they have even a drop of Irish blood. Hilarious!
Yeah I'm a Viking because my great great great great grandmother got ravished
I just want to know where the Finnish came from...

Mum always said she was pure Welsh. Not true, as I have English in my ancestry which must have come from her. Dad's side were Scottish/Irish. I look like Dad and especially Granny, so the very thin legs come from Ireland At least I don't have Granny's huge hips, nor my Aunt's tree trunk legs.
My blood group O neg is typical Celtic- west Scotland, Wales, Brittany, into Galicia. Apparently a bit of Spanish DNA in some places where the Armada ships wrecked when they were fleeing around the north of Scotland and back down the west coast.
Last Viking battle on British soil was at Largs, so I sometimes go to the annual Viking Festival. Scots won. Seems such a waste to burn a longboat! But it seems to be a welcome excuse for some people to dress up in rough wool shirts & leather jerkins.
