The back of our house faces north, but that is the direction of the nearest town so too much light pollution. It's very cloudy here too and not forecast to get much better. Would love to see it but I doubt whether I ever will from here, we would have to drive further out into the countryside.
It's well worth the drive. I saw it for the first time last weekend and it was magical.
It was visible in Swaffam- don't know how the light pollution there compares to where you live.
Last weekend it was more overhead than from the north so you might get lucky where you live.

I know Swaffham in Norfolk, as I used to live about 10 miles from there. Light pollution there is probably fairly similar to here. It's a lot clearer here now than it was last night, so I'll keep a lookout, thanks.
As well is two words!
