Not heard of it until now, and I would be interested as it is low maintenance and appears to be low cost too.

Personally, I wouldn’t risk over the counter products. If they damage the surface of your teeth, you’re snookered, the tooth enamel won’t recover. If they make no difference, you’ve wasted your money.
My dentist does whitening; I can sue him if it goes wrong. Or he might say: nothing will make a difference because (whatever). Or, only veneers will achieve what you want.
You’re essentially bleaching your teeth.

Yup. Tannins in tea, same as red wine. The Repair Shop people use tea to stain new material for mending toys, to match the original.
