Our frying pan for items such as bacon, eggs etc is a cheap non stick crepe pan.
I also have an omelette pan which does what it says on the tin.
For frying and items which need liquid such as curries a 30 year old Stellar stainless steel pan set is still brilliant and indestructible.
I was watching a programme this morning and it looked like a Hexclad pan, so they must be spending serious money on product placement.

I used to run a Kitchenware Department for a major retailer for 10 years so had a lot of experience of frying pans! My advice would be to buy non-stick pans from places such as IKEA or the Range at reasonable prices and be prepared to buy new ones at regular intervals. You can extend their useful life by making sure all fat is removed and I would suggest a long handled dish brush under hot water and then put in a dishwasher if you have one. I have to say I was completely gobsmacked at the condition some people tried to return them in, I just didn't know people could treat things like that! WE had a new kitchen about 5 years ago and had an induction hob so we needed new pans. We don't fry a lot but they get regular use and I would say they are all in pretty good condition. Although I suspect they have a good few years left in them, given their initial cost I don't think they owe anything?

My mother had a cheap metal frying pan which never stuck. She "proved" it by using very hot oil when it was clean and thoroughly dry (she used to leave it hanging up beside her boiler to dry). She died 16 years ago and we still use her pan for frying eggs!

I've found that frying pans from 'Lakeland' are pretty good. If you're ever in Windermere, drop into their excellent shop on the outskirts of town.
Having said that, for steaks, burgers etc., I recommend 'Fissler' cookware. I'm a big fan of German kitchenware and apart from my Lakeland pan, all my other pots and pans are Fissler. My table ware is WMF and knife set is Henckles.
