Hi everyone, Abstract here, decided to get back into camping after many years, taking the folding camper option this time ( too old for sleeping on the ground and remember all the negatives of caravaning, eg storage and towing in high winds). Anyway, during my research kept ending up here....what a great site for information, guidance and all with a good dose of humor. Felt I just had to join.
Hello All
After many years camping in UK & Europe travelling by motorcycle, my wife got fed up with getting wet. So we bought a 16 year old VW Westfalia in which we toured Yougoslavia, Italy, France & Germany plus the UK. The VW was OK with one baby, but not big enough for two, so it had to go.
We then bought a 4 year old Sprite Muskateer caravan had it just over 2 years until it was stolen from my drive complete with Hitchcock.
Kids now gone, took early retirement last year at 60, two days into retirement purchased a 7 year old Fiat Ducato based Possl 2Win panel van conversion. It's identical to Globecar Globescout. This year we have had over 60 nights away including a month in France. We have been away every month of the year to date.
We also use it as a Day van & occasional 2nd vehicle.
Just fitted 120w solar panel, to stay off grid for longer.
Now planning 6 week trip to Portugal next year.
Regards
Ed
