Has anyone towed a caravan along the A685 towards Kendal? Have driven along it a while ago but can’t remember what it was like. Going to Kendal Camping and Caravan Club site and would be coming through Kirby Stephen.
Thanks very much for replying. Looks like I will be able to tow the caravan along it. Had looked on google maps but it’s good to have 1st hand knowledge.
The caravan is a bit bigger than an Eriba Touring.
We did that route earlier this year with our 7 metre caravan, with no problems. You just have to be a bit careful going through Kirkby Stephen as you can get parked vehicles on the road.

Thanks for that. Ours is a similar length. Familiar with the route through Kirkby Stephen as bought caravan from ALV which is just before the motorway at Tenby and have it serviced there.

Predictive text I think, Tebay.
Thanks for that did not even think that my ancient computer would change it from Tebay.
Thanks also for all the replies, the route was fine although the route to Kendal seemed to be littered with badly repaired pot holes. Coming back wasn't as bumpy.
Just noticed that the post was moved - hadn't noticed that there was a section devoted to towing, this will be a great place to look for other possible towing queries.
