Hello
just towed yesterday for first time with the FL2 and have noticed the snowball seems really low.
It's a witter towbar bolt on with alko towball.
Can anyone tell me what height their FL2 height is please?
Could the previous owner of had a different towball on it that made it higher? Is this possible?
Martin

The ball needs to be between 350mm and 420 mm to the centre of the ball from the ground when the vehicle is in its laden state. Mine sits at 415mm with nothing in the back.

The ALKO ball is a fraction taller.

And you can get the towballs with the towball and a jaw coupling combination. These are a bit higher also.

But a standard ball should be high enough.

Do you wind the jockey wheel up and then unbolt it and slide it up as far as it will go?

I do wind it up and it was hard to get it clear of the ground to spin it.
When we hitched up at storage it was noticeably. lower than the galaxy.

Wind it up yes. But do you also unclamp it and raise it even higher?

Is the max noseweight on the FL2 lower than the galaxy?

It can be approx 2 3/4 inches lower or 7cm. And still be in tolerance.

If you have a large diameter jockey wheel you may need to remove it when towing. Or fit one with a smaller wheel?

Ths tow ball weight on the freelander should be higher than the galaxy, we have a freelander 1 the towbar max weight is 150kg, I run 90kg on the caravan noseweight.

The freelander suspension is much firmer than a galaxy so I would not expect it to deflect much, ours certainly does not.

Can only suggest you check the noseweight on your caravan.

It seems low without the caravan on just where it is on the car, noseweight not a problem. FL2 150kg galaxy 85kg.

Keep trying to look at others but they all seem to be detachable

Slightly above the middle figure then.

I think it just looks low because of the vehicles high stance and the bumper shape.

You would normally see if at bumper level.

Looks OK to me.

Imagine it on a Range Rove thats been raised more than 4 inches.

Drop plate looked like a plough.

cheers
think i may have to reduce size of jockey wheel as it did catch once on bumpy lincolnshire lanes and was struggling for clearance to spin jockey wheel round to be able to pull it up if you follow me?.
the caravan does seem more nose down than galaxy though.
it is high as the dogs haven't got the hang of jumping in yet

Well took van away and had same problems, couldn't spin jockey wheel round to lift. Not enough clearance when hitched up, very nose down.
Saw another fl2 with same witter towbar who had no concerns.
Really am puzzled.same noseweight as i had with galaxy which was ok?
