I was just wondering what 7 seater tow cars everyone else uses and whether they would recommend them? Our caravn is 1650kg max and we tow with our Ford Galaxy 2.2TDCI which is within the towing limits of 1800, but close.

So just curious really as to what other large families use, which also double up as a good car when not towing.

I have now just taken delivery of our new isabella Capri awning and begin to wonder where in earth this can go in transit as its huge!

I think we desperately need to change car now!

So in addition to the above a huge boot would be good too. We will be using 6 seats, so have capacity to fold be down

As other post quality tow car limited space with any of back seats up and loading area not totally flat. What about a roof box as a place for awning or is it too heavy for that......and step ladders might be needed to reach the roof! That's the biggest downside we have had...takes ages to clean and black so difficult to get clean. We love ours as a fantastic tug.

Would be worth looking at one at a dealers. Kia Sorento is basically same car as well. Both good strong tugs.

Thanks all, I think ts looking like the Santa Fe......yep awning far too heavy to get in a roof box.

My thoughts are with the Santa Fe we could have the caravan replated to 1800kg and put the awning in the car(hopefully it should squeeze in!) and everything else in the caravan.

This caravan is costing us a fortune lol!

I think we're going for the BMW X5 7 seater as the boot space with just one teat seat in use is still huge and its got good load and tow limits.

Lol Bobsbabes.....not anywhere near the size of your i800 and we've had to opt for it being older than we currently have, but that aside they have great reviews.

We've figured with the caravan replated that can accommodate the plastic patio set and then the awning, Cadac, lafumas, beach stuff etc can go in the car. Then once the eldest stops coming we're laughing as we will have full use of the boot space.

All that said we are off to view and inspect the one we want on Saturday, so here's hoping its as good in the flesh as it looks in the video. All being well we can collect the following weekend in time to get a towbar fitted for our bank holiday weekend away!

santa fe is great, if only usinf 6 seats you can still get loads in the boot or put roof box on which can carry upto 75kgs no problem (depending on the box, some are lower weights)

Ditto the i800. However, given the size of the boot you don't ever really need to fold the seats down.
