Am thinking about changing my tow car and have been looking Audi it would be a A6 avante (estate) 3.0ltr V6 Quattro ,I've got a t/a bailey Pegasus bologna,I think the weights work out ok but just wondered if anyone else tows with one.
very highley rated car 3.ltr will do 50mpg solo and do 155mph not that you would want to ?? and has enough power to pull anything within it weight limit as if it was not there.
If you are buying new make sure you order it with a factory fitted tow bar, great bit of kit. the bumper comes with a removable panel and a leaver in the boot, just pull the leaver and the tow bar swings out into position, also car will be mapped for this mod.
if it has not got cruise control order it at the same time (app £250 ) fit it after delivery and its £500.
I could go on but the main thing is if buying new order your extras at the point of ordering the car and bargain most of them in for free
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

I think Kojack may have got it slightly wrong the 3 ltr diesel will do 47.1 mpg, but it must be worth every mile.
Hi Bob we all know that Audi also make Scoda cars
Whatever! (no offence intended Mike) Seriously if I was in the market I would deffo look hard at the Superb estate, which I am convinced is an A6 in disguise!

Here's the thing. My late FIL was a Ford engineer, Dagenham trained, and when I was driving a Passat, he was raving about Skoda, well before VW bought them. His last car was an Estelle, or one of that era.
At the time I said I wouldn't have given one house room. He would have had the last laugh though. He'd have loved our Yeti.
In hindsight, I think even pre-VW, they were a little unfairly tarred with the same brush as marques from further back east.

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it
Well, in goes my 2 pennorth. In 1963 while we were in Cyprus we owned a 1963 Skoda Octavia. (sorry no pics - I will retrieve one from our loft one day and scan it) It was built like a brick outhouse. The paint was first class. The car was ultra reliable and quite pleasant to drive. Seperate chassis!! The bodywork was so strong; one day on the way back home to Limassol from RAF Akrotiri, on the back road, where we used to play chicken on the narrow roads, a local coming the other way in a Fiat 1300 brushed against the Skoda with a bang like a bomb going off. On arrival home, I found all that had happened was the paint on the lip on the front offside wing was down to primer with the metal not even flattened. Next day on the way home I saw the same Fiat and there was a large dent running down the complete side of the car. Skoda 1, Fiat nil.

Audi/Skoda/VW/Seat Same cars under the skin. Just a slightly different shell in some cases.
Odd how the Skoda ones tend to be more reliable. If you said that in the 80's they would have locked you up.
Dont forget that all important bit the insurance, it will be more for the Audi slightly less for the VW and even cheaper for the Skoda, and all for basicaly the same car with the same engine and running gear just different skins and badges Also the Skoda has more rear leg room and a much bigger boot area????
