we are looking at a Bailey Ranger 500/5 are there any other lightweight caravans that we could look at as an alternative

MTPLM = 1272 kgs.we have one.many long term caravanners pull at 100% of cars kerb weight,85% is better and safer.

A lot of experienced caravaners tow above 85% as it's only a guide. I think if you take it easy and stay below 60mph you'll be okay.

Check though that the match is 90%. Also check what the nose weight value of the Vectra is
