I do not have any of the above, so am not bias.
I would not hesitate and go for the Skoda Superb Estate Auto, a fantastic car by ALL accounts. 😀👍

Skoda also stated fitting the 150 bhp diesel instead of the 140 diesel in early 2015 ,before the brand new model late in 2015 so if you can find one you will have even more power and better economy, also only £30 road tax

Having had a Honda CR-V diesel up unto 18 months ago I too was looking to change. I brought a Skoda Superb estate and am well impressed with it.

I have had Audis only since 1985 so no problem guessing which one for me.
Would consider the VW or Skoda or maybe a Q5, just got my second.

Thanks for info above.
I think, we are going to plumb for the Hyundai Santa Fe, around year 2012. We are downsizing to either an Eldis Affinity 574, or a Bailey 2 Cadiz (beds in the 3 are tiny).
The Honda would have done it along with a host of other cars, however we also put two, two man canoes on the roof, and by the time we have packed the kitchen sink, dog etc in the boot, we would need something which wont have issues with the rear suspension being challenged.
We ended up narrowing it down to either the Landrover Freelander 2, or the Kia/Hyundai Sorento/Santa fe.
The latter two won on stying etc (Boss didn't like the look of the Landrover).
The Hyundai, are v cheap for the money, £12000, gets you a sub 35000m car year 2012.

Why get something big, all the vw group you mentioned would have done, and only £30 a year road tax

For your money you might get a Kia or Hyundai with some factory warranty left.
If VW group are so good why don't they give 5 years warranty?

Because they don't need to. VW are an established European brand. The only way to get anybody to take a punt on Kia or Hyundai was to give a longer warranty.

It seems to have worked as they sell well.
Some established brands such as Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Honda do too. My view is that something as expensive as a car should have a decent warranty.
Nothing wrong with VAG cars, I do like some of the Skoda and Seat models!
