So my previous post was getting opinions on options to tow Alaria TR.
We’ve narrowed it down to a nearly new Touareg or nearly new Landcruiser.
Votes please, opinions allowed 😂😂😂😂😂
------------- Started with a motorbike and tent.......my gallery, my life.
Nearly hit it off with one of Francais quips, but not quite.
Touareg, but I'm biased. Luxury motoring compared to tractor like.
Get the Touareg with as many dealer specced toys as you can, mine has about £8k of extras and I didn't pay for them.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
If it was myself it would be a Landcruiser any day of the week.
There used to be a saying that if you wanted to drive into the wilderness take a Land Rover ... if you wanted to get back again then take a Landcruiser.
personally neither.
We've had 2 landcrusers and they have both been amazing, however when looking to trade in the 10 year old 05 plate a few years ago, the new landcruser was awful, gutless, noisy and not a patch on what we were getting rid of.
we ended up with an amarok, which I believe is similar (same engine/gearbox etc) as a toureg just with different skirts. We kept it a year before getting shot of it. I'd never have another VW as long as i live; the dealership was shocking, they couldnt have given less than a monkeys. VW UK didnt want to know and lied at every opportunity.
Now we have a disco and it's lovely (although the suspension did need fixing which was done without quibble by landrover within the week.
Also have a Rav4 which has been good, but again toyota dealership has let me down with damage they did to it when servicing last October which I am still waiting for them to fix (it goes back to the garage tomorrow for their 7th attempt, lsst week while on their 6th attempt they badly scratched the drivers door and clouted the side step, so they've got that to fix as well)
------------- Doing whatever the rice krispies tell me to.
Yep, back in the day(what day I have no clue about)it would be a game changer.

Just to throw a curve ball into the mix, have you looked at the Jeep GC, just bought one to tow our Adria when we pick it up.
Plenty of poke, really comfortable & enough toys to keep everyone happy, plus it is heavy enough for any tourer built.
Jeep GC, getting 40mpg solo, and a mate who tows with same make, reckons he gets 24-25 mpg when towing a 1600kg van.
We both are getting on in years so we have light right feet, push it & it goes very well, but drinks the juice,a very comfortable ride.
