Well new car is sat on drive, just itching now to get tow bar fitted as off to cornwall next week, really looking forward to the travel now instead of with my Astra where I struggled at times to get above 50 when motorway had a gradiant and wind was in its face... Now just give me the sunshine!
The seat fabric makes quite a difference too!....I find that a decent leather interior seems to tow a lot better than cloth due to it's slippery surface.
In other words...the more torque the better the tow...it's simple really.

We have the 2.2 155bhp Ghia X estate and as I've said before it pulls like the bloody flying scotsman. I havn't driven the new model, but if it's better than the 2.2 that we have then WOW that will be some tow car, my ideal tow car would have the space of the vectra estate, the pulling power of the mondeo 2.2 and the suspention of the Citreon C5.

Never been that fond of leather, the one I liked was the velour in the Rover. But as to the more torque the better it pulls, perhaps but as I said my Volvo hadd more torque and more power than my Rover yet the Rover was a far more relaxed towcar, the big difference was the gear ratios and the engine speed where the max torque was produced.
Now the TDCi diesel puts them both to shame.

Well just back from two weeks in Cornwall, Petewan Sands (great location for a site).. Anyway it was my first time out with the Mondeo and what a tow, it was fantastic 700 miles (round trip) and not 1 single issue. Pulling up some of the steep hills around cornwall was brilliant, so much better than my Astra was. Really pleased that i took the plunge and splashed 10k out on the car..
