Our frontera is the towing dream !

not everyone likes the big vauxhall but the 2.2 DTI especially the newer ones will tow most twin axles and pulls our swift charisma 650 with locomotive style power even uphill.

There is shed loads of room in the boot and add a roofbox and camping and caravan heaven.

this is our 3rd frontera and we love it ! off to france at the weekend ! happy days

My Focus does it all for me. Nice to drive, not expensive to run, tows my 2 berth, and is easy to park. I shall move to the C Max 2.0 deisel version, because that will still tick the boxes, and hit the cheaper range of excise duty.

Our Sorento has just done 2000 miles on a 3 week holiday to France, pulls like a train-you have to watch the speedo!

Cruise control a bonus on autoroutes, climate control is very good in hot weather. It  will do about 26 mpg towing, plus it has lots of toys, leather trim. privacy glass etc!!!

We had a Frontera Olympus before which was very good but reliability issues forced its sale.It was a shame as we liked it a lot!

Its engine was more responsive than the Kia's but has less torque, in the Kia, you need to use the gears more,70mph is 2000rpm!

The Frontera was more economical , which you would expect being lighter and having a smaller engine!

Tax increase will be a pain, hope you're out on your ear soon Brown!!!!

We have a Renault Megane CC for everyday use, lovely in the summer, but being a 1.6 petrol is economical and quite zippy!!!

our mondeo diesel just seems to do everything well with no dramas.just done 1500 miles in the last fortnight and averaged 42mpg towing and solo. its cheap to tax (£145 a year) and insure (£200 fully comp) and costs £50 a year to service (oil and filters is all it needs).it tows our 1400 kg avante no problems and very stable.the only thing id change is to beef up the rear suspension.plenty of room, drives well, handles well has all the kit as standard.

our renault megane 1.5 dci tows with no problem at all...and best of all returns 50+ mpg when towing, as well as only having a car tax for 35 pounds for the year! what with low car insurance, electric windows, air conditioning, comfortable seats, stereo controls next to steering wheel, onboard computer, etc...AND a 5 star ncap rating........................well its not too bad!?

I love my car, a Mercedes E320 auto 7 seater Estate, because it is swift, remarkably quiet, superbly comfortable, safe, roomy, well-equipped, and quite economical for a 3.2 litre petrol engine.  It has cruise control with a very useful speed limiter, leather upholstery, dual zone aircon, rain-sensing wipers, glass sunroof, electric seats, self-levelling rear suspension, is quite heavy, and has a comfortable ride.  As for its towing abilities, I'll be in a position to tell you next week, as we are off to France.

I wouldnt go as far as I love my current car, a 406 Estate, it certainly doesnt have the characture of my multipla, but it is a damn good car.

I do like the 90s exterior styleing, and its certainly well equipped, climate control, sat nav, auto wipers/lights, all round leccy windows. its also very comfey even on long trips, and it pulls the van well for a good mpg, around 30ish with the van, up to 55mpg on a run solo.

what lets it down, well I would like a cruise control.
the clutch is also quite heavy, and the gearbox 1st is too highly geared so involved a bit of clutch slipping with the an on the back.

otherwise, just done the MOT, only needed a handbrake cable tighten, service for £70, Cam belt for £130
