I run a TDCi 130 on a 52 plate with 125,000 miles on the clock and other than standard items ie tyres, service parts and 1x clutch it has performed a dream with an average mpg of 42-45 in town. Strangely enough my colleague with his Passatt has had wishbones repalced, air flow meter replaced, clutch replaced and no were near the mileage of mine, so you pays your money and makes your choice but how many fleets run Mondeo's compared to other main stream manufacturers? and fleets dont like spending money.

Fleets get rid of all cars as soon as they are out of warranty.

The Mondeo I owned was a really nice car, a bit under-powered and soft at the back end but good on the whole apart from the bloody repairs bill. It caused so much stress it makes me sweat just tro think about it.

How Ford can justify these enourmous bills is beyond me. I talked with them and they didnt give a fig.

My business now has 3 vans and I rejected buying 3 new TDCi engined Transits in favour of the CDTi Vivaro because of this appauling record of breakdowns we had with the Mondy. After a total of 220,000 miles we have had one breakdown due to dirty fuel.............says it all really. I would never touch a TDCi again out of warranty. I couldnt afford to.
