Over rated in my opinion! my 2001 passat was the most unreliable car i've owned from new to 120,000m, a work colleagues 2005 passat 140 diesel has broken down on him numerous times, the last two occasions for injectors.

Nice car though! just a little bit too germanic for me.

I do 40,000m/yr and the most reliable car i've had was a laguna, yes! surprise surprise! however not much was left of the interior trim after all the abuse so i also discount french cars!

I just think some german cars are over priced especially as when you look into the figures there not that good as everyone else has caught up with them but they still try to sell them on the quality theme!

100% sure. I have the 'auto hold' option - I wonder if it is because of that?

I too have the auto hold and tried this morning with no seatbelt. Maybe its mine thats faulty!!

After 75,000 miles and 2.5 years of ownership, all of the trim on my 2007 Passat is intact. It still has all of the bits it came with out of the factory, apart from a single parking sensor which got replaced under warranty,  I must be lucky enough to have Wednesday morning car (as opposed to Friday Afternoon!).

This is the 8th company car I've had, and so far the most reliable. (1xSierra, 2xCalibras,2xGolfs,1xPassat(old shape),1xAvensis,1xPassat)

Those of you with any VW Skoda or Seat cars with seat belt warning buzzers or chimes can get them switched off by the dealer or do it yourself by reaching under the front seats from the rear seat, find the base where the seat belt clicks into and at the bottom you will feel a wire, follow this wire to about 6 to 10 inches away and you will feel a plastic connector, just unplug it and you will have no more warning bongs or chimes,

If you only have one rear fog light you can get the other turned on by the dealer
