OH just had a look in our service record the first was 18,000 and under normal conditions every 18,000 or 2 years, (the car tells you) and a main service at 36000 or every 4th year. (The SID displays the type of service required. Timing belt (if diesel like ours) is at 72,000 miles.

We have a 9-3 vector sport, but don't use it for towing. (We have a Terrano for that). Nice car, well built and very smooth. yes 18000 or 2 years is the service interval, and watch out for rear upper suspension parts; the top wishbones wear and that leads to uneven tyre wear and tram-lining; got ours done under warranty and the car is transformed.
