forgot to say self  leveling is automatic. its in the shocks. ray.

excellent information ray,it says on the invoice that shocks were fitted with the tow bar and a bit more research with mills volvo dealers should show if they have been replaced or not.
thanks again ray.

I used to tow with one.
I took it to the South of France and it towed very well. I must add that after that I fitted a gearbox oil cooler because a couple of times I heard the coolant bubble!
All I did with the rear suspension was to fit "rubber doughnuts".
Also spent a lot of time in filling stations!

Only just seen this post. Have a look at the Volvo owners club uk forum. You don't have to be a member to join and they actually have a towing subforum as well as sub forums for all the different models, going right back to the amazon.

We used to have a 1990 Transtar, the mgw on ours was 1150 kg. In fact it was the reason we moved onto Volvos, as our previous car had 1100 kg towing limit. We've never looked back, (except to see if the van's still there).   24

  Hope this is of help

    Pete.

clifford.

as your new volvo is a 2,4 litre dont tell the insurance company that its a t5 or you will pay a higher premium.

all 850 and p1 v70 t5"s were 2.3 litre engines and not 2.4.

2.4 and 2.5 models were fitted with a low pressure turbo. 225 bhp.

2.3 t5 engine had a high pressure turbo and were 240 bhp

t5r had 250 bhp.

if you were to compare a 2.4 LPT 850 auto to a 850 t5 there would be an incredible difference in the way they drive, most t5 and t5r models were manual gearbox.

under the bonnet they may look the same , but there not.

IMHO the 2.4 LPT 850 is a much better tow car than the 2.3 litre t5 has it has lots of torque lower down in the rev band and you dont have a power band like the t5 were all hell lets loose when it gets to around 3500 to 4000 rpm lol .with the 2.4 LPT it starts pulling at 1000 rpm and just keeps going, better on fuel too.

keep the oil clean and it will run and run forever.

dont bother with novamats, self leveling system just make sure the shocs are good and all will be well.

glt trim is very nice

how nice are heated seats ?24

enjoy.

They will know anyway as soon as you give them the reg no. it will come up with all of the info on the car.

As you say jaiash not worth the risk of invalidated insurance.

Sorry still reads like you're not telling the company the proper spec. and as deltaman says they will more than likely go by the reg given anyway.
