Well yes, this thread does appear to be an advert for Milenco mirrors but I can't disagree. My local caravan shop allowed me to try several different makes for size & it was worth paying the extra for the Milencos if only because they are so easy to fit & also come in a carry case.
Easy to remove as well which makes it a good idea to remove them if outfit is left parked at motorway services etc.
Just to be boring - having used many different kinds I have to agree that the Milenco mirrors are light years ahead of the rest.
The suck it and see type have one advantage, you can adjust them using the car's door mirror remote control. However, in the end what you fear does happen - they fall off.
I use Suck it and see mirrors , very easy to fit and can adjust them with my elecy mirrors, never got any vibration on them and they have never droped off.
I tried my mate's Rock Steady mirrors but I couldn't get then to fit well enough on our Zafira (probably my fault, I know). I picked up a pair of Milenco Aero 2 mirrors today and they fitted a treat. The clamps are much better quality than the RockSteady ones so I guess it was worth the extra outlay.
My Suck-it-and-see mirrors have never dropped off and adjusting them from the driver's seat without going through the "up a bit, left a bit, down a bit" rigmarole with my O.H. was well worth the investment.
I considered the suck it and see one's just for the name alone!
We couldn't get them in the end as some tit smacked into our wing mirror, we're waiting for our replacement to arrive so are not able to attach it at the moment.
Suck-it-and-see is my choice....have had then 4 years and they are great for being able to fit and adjust from the drivers seat using the electric joystick in car.
Yes I would agree they do take up some of the vision that the car mirrors will give you but if like me you do some adjustments on first setting up you can maximise the view from the car mirrors and still use these S-i-a S type.
Also I have had mine drop off (one exiting the Dartford tunnel in heavy traffic) but the elastic retainer cord did it's job and held the mirror at side of car door until I could stop and refit. Now I do a second tightening of the knurled knob before setting off and this seems to work.

Humperdinck, I had trouble fitting Milenco Aero mirrors to my 08 Zafira. The shape of the mirror top meant it could not clamp firmly on in my experience causing one to come adrift on a journey a couple of years ago. I bought some Milenco Safety Mirrors and had no problems with them.
When my suck & see mirrors dropped off - funnily enough within a few miles of each other on the M6 in high winds - the elastic restraining straps kept them attached to the car - causing fairly significant damage to the paintwork on both doors as they battered the door before I could get over to the hardshoulder and stop.
Needless to say on both occasions the glass in the mirror was smashed, so no point refitting them.
