Thank you Jim. I understand now how you do it (not sure whether I'd be able to pick up the same ABS here, but I can start looking just in case)
I think it would be worth starting a new thread anyway just so that the topic will be searchable for others needing the information.
Alan

Hi Zac45
We have a 1991 Elddis Wisp 350/2 and are looking for an awning.....we weren't sure that a porch awning would fit but have looked at your photo

Would you tell me the make / model of your porch awning please?
Thanks

<Would you tell me the make / model of your porch awning please?>

I would be interested to know that too, as all seem to say 235-250 height nd the Wisp is quite a bit lower than that.

Hi Alan - we measured our height around 230 and have found awnings from 225 which should be fine - it is the width that worries me - maybe we'll have to do a tuck and pin and shorten the poles!

Hmm, I've measured mine as closer to 215, maybe I'll have to measure it again.

Not that easy to do alone, but by putting an extending tent pole against the van and then measuring that I come up with 222 (the 215 was from memory). I know now that NR awnings do make porch awnings that are available in several heights (but that is not an option for me as I am restricted to what the importers decide to bring into NZ)

Hi janep21 & allan the porch we have is a dorema & it was the smallest they made about 3 years ago we bought it second hand so not sure of model but i will have a look tomorrow it as alli. Poles. I dont think they make one this small any more. The height is no problem, the width just goes about 3inch onto side window but with edges being padded it fits fairly snug.

Kevin - Thanks so much for your time and help.
I had guessed it was a Dorema - we are going to look at one and feel much more confident that it will work on the caravan now.

Allan - Dorema don't make them this small anymore but they do one under their 'starcamp' label - the Starcamp Alpha - this has the same sizing as the one Kevin uses

Thanks all

Jane

<they do one under their 'starcamp' label - the Starcamp Alpha >
looked at that and it still says 235 - 255 height. May have to resort to making one myself, I've done it for the Rapido.

Hi all,
Friends of mine have just bought a wisp 300/2, 1993 in the year. They are looking to replace the front window seal but cannot find a supplier of the original or a new alternative can anyone help?
Also,
A wisp of this age with an ALKO chassis would it have a castellated type hub nut with spit pin or a standard 32mm one shot nut
Any and all advise will be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks
John
