A lot of sites we have been to are the same. Why? when they tell you you cant get on till 12noon some are even later. I need about an hour to pack things up, and hitch up the car. so need to be out getting packed up at 9.00am.  This makes going away for one night a total waste of time.

Un hitching setting up can take me anything from less than an hour to about a day, depending on how long i am staying for. Just enjoy it, and dont worry about how long it takes, its not a race.

The solution to early departure times is to book an extra night (its so cheap) we nearly always do, then we can leave at any time we want

Not so easy booking that extra night when they only allow sat - sat bookings.

A couple of sites we went to have started sat - sat only during peak times.

I do wonder if it works for them. One we stopped at had in Cornwall right on the A39 seemed to get a steady trickle of people who want to stop one or two nights.

Sat - Sat for us is a not ideal.

I personally, don't have the luxury of been able to afford to pay for an extra night, for tba sack of a few hours extra in the morning, wish I did!
The average price we pay for a fully serviced pitch is £25. Which would them mean our little overnight stay would now cost £50, not so cheap in my world. With a mortgage, pay freeze, reduced hours, and a family at school, where I have to pay for everything, just because I work.

As it is I don't have money to throw away, I usually ask what time I need to be off the site at, and most say as long as the pitch isn't booked I can stay on it till early afternoon. They then get my business again. Most of the big commercial sites are a lot less accommodating.
