Yeah, the Fleet company is starting to look like an easier option as you guys suggest They will hold the V5 and should be able to help and, indeed have before for getting the extra number plate made up for the Van.

I've just been hanging on for Ford, believing that the reply is moments away, as I havn't had a chance to get hold of the Fleet Guys.

Evenstephen, I am just hoping that the "not approved" bit in the manual is just a misleadingly phrased recomendation because that is the only mention ANYWHERE officially that the car may not be suitable.

The more I google the more convinced that all is good for towing as there seems to be a lot of talk about the presence of a towing weight?max train weight on the VIn being confirmation that the vehicle IS Type Approved

Still have a nagging thought that I perhaps have unearthed a bit of a Ford foobar here and not sure how I would stand legaly when arguing the Toss with their lawyers in the case of an accident.

The manual is back in the car Zafiral but will double check what the weights given stand for in the morning.

Here's the plate itself in the mean time:

Great news today Guys!!!! See below and many thanks all of you for your attention but we are good to go!!!!!!!! :):):)

I also got the V5 from the Fleet company and it does indeed show towing capacities that are well within our Van (1050KG but tempted still to get the whole outfit on a weighbridge coz we do have a lot of guff in it)

Hello,

The vehicle that you have is actually a Focus Edge 1.6 TDCi 95PS model, not the Focus ECOnetic series.  The confusion appears to  have arisen from the ‘ECOnetic Technologies’ badge that is fitted to the rear of his vehicle.  This badge relates to technologies that are fitted to the vehicle which improve its ECO credentials i.e. Auto Start/Stop, Regenerative charging, Active Grille Shutter etc.  These technologies improve CO2 emissions and fuel economy.  The badge is fitted to all of our vehicles that have these technologies, not just the ECOnetic series.

That said, your vehicle can be fitted with a Towbar and has a towing capability of: 1200kg with a braked trailer; 680kg with an unbraked trailer.

Kind Regards

Your picture has killed the forum

I try and shrink them down to approx 800x600 for most things. 1024x768 if you need a bit more detail.

2560 x 1920 is just a tad too large
