Santa Fe has 5 year warranty, Skoda 3, worth considering, although Skodas are pretty reliable. Brother in Law has one as company car which has done high miles and its fine.

Don't know there make of van, but I put in there max van weight of 1450.
What you also have to think about is every day use, there is no point buying a massive 4x4 just for a few tows a year, and then having the additional running costs for the rest of the year
Hello.......... look at the picture Bob under the car it states 1605kg, thats what the car weighs not 2130kg like you posted earlier. Towcars are all about KERBWEIGHT
The greater the gap between kerbweight and caravan weight the better
Yes, we have a 2011 X trail, and its about the same length as the Passat it replaced, but crucially it's heavier kerb weight makes it a better tool for towing. And it's ok on fuel.
And we just fancied a 4x4 for a change (albeit not a 'massive' one).
how about vauxhall antara lifetime warranty and start from £15495 ??

Firstly you haven't entered 1450kg but 250kg as weight of van, so you copy and paste is meaningless I am afraid
Secondly Santa Fe and X Trail are not "massive" 4x4's
They want a safe and stable tow and the cars you are mentioning do not fit the category for novice towers
Right clever clogs you do the calculations, I did put 1450KG in the max box as thats all we have to go on the car is the Octavia comby 2ltr diesel 4x4, even selecting the older model its well within

No the OP's signature shows they have a Sprite Major 6 so putting that in with your suggested car and witha 250kg payload to take MTPLM to around 1450kg gives
Skoda and Sprite

It will have plenty of power it doesn;t make it a stable and safe tow for a novice tower. its about reading what people are asking for
