The handbook for our 2004 caravan also warns against towing with commercial vehicles. My local dealer told me that the way vans are set up with heavy duty suspension etc has an adverse effect on the A frame of the caravan. I guess factory conversions (Caravelle, Torneo etc) are more softly sprung?
The dealer should check what towing vehicle you have and advise at point of sale.
