No I don't, I buy it because I like it and especially like the driving position.
I really do wish you would give up on this constant 4x4 bashing.

But head and brick wall spring to mind.

Yes, I had a deposit down on a forester, but the kerb weight was only 1550, so I was way over the 85% rule, managed to get my deposit back.
Just be careful when looking for a tow car I got blinded by the fact that its maxium towing weight was 2000kg braked.
Have test driven a sangyong karando, Crv diesel and tomorrow a freelander 2.
I want a4x4 as the driving height and visiablity is excellent, I travel to work down some country lanes that flood and when we have snow can become hazardous in a normal vehicle.
Yet to test drive a Santa fe

my husband has got a 63 santa fe which he loves...not had any problems..TOUCH WOOD.....would certainly get another one...

I tow with a Freelander 2 great tow car and extremely competent. Had it since August 2013 did a 1,000 mile trip September without a hitch. Good reliable motor. As with most forums people only shout about their car when they go wrong.

Philzz55, how true, I'm looking forward to the freelander test drive tomorrow, hope I won't be disappointed, if I'm honest its my favorite out of the short list I've got.
Still waiting for the Hyundai dealer to get back in touch.

I also have an Audi A4 estate which pulls well but the LR is fantastic I have been pulling a 1300kg van and moved upto 1550kg van and the LR still pulls no problem. My only advice is go for LR with good service history. Mine has main dealer history and now has 97,000 miles. The only issue in the past with a previous owner was rear transfer oil seals. Love the LR and averaging 28MPG towing 1,000 miles mixed driving.

Maximum weight of my van is 1387 loaded.
Test driven the freelander today loved the car but not the dealer very rude and how many people does it take to do a sale, I had three gang up on me very pressured environment. Didn't even get to a deal on paper as the PX offer was derogatory, and all they wanted to know was 'have we a deal' bearing in mind the PX was a thousand less than other places, not a snow ball in hells chance.
It didnt start well when they told me that I didnt have appointment and the sales bloke wasn't in , day off, the fact that I'd phoned Monday and made the appointment, then Thursday to confirm it, but the sales chap was not at his desk, he would ge back me , he didnt, I then phoned Friday to be told it was his day off .Rant over til I phone the sales manager Monday morning
