Nobody in their right mind loads the car and van to the max, should you get stopped vosa will only check the weight at that time,
If you know where your local weighbridge is load your car with what you normally take and go and get it weighed, you will find your nowhere near the max permissible, you already know the vans max weight, so should be under with that, or just take them both there.
the max of car weight will be a full tank and 5 adults and luggage with possibly a top box.
or better still go and get a car that will tow your van instead of the 4x4

BOBS IN COOKOO LAND AGAIN. what a load of rubbish
I take it none of you read Billy X post with the weights
Read the whole thread, Bob, even with 2wd version max allowable gross weights of car & op's caravan come to over 3.5tonnes. You cannot load the outfit light to get it under 3.5t on a weighbridge & drive it on a B licence, surely you understand that?
Those were kerbweights of the cars as I stated in my post, Bob. Fyi, it's max gross weight of car + mtplm of caravan which in this case comes to over 3.5t.
