Google 'handbrake lever hitting al-ko stabiliser hitch' & there is actually a fair bit about this problem. One solution appears to be bending handbrake handle, seems dodgy to me. Apparently Al-ko issued a warning about this. Cause as suggested is retro fitting of stab. hitch to older caravans.

hi put a bunggy strap around the towball handle and that will stop the handle flying up cheers .tom

Probably better to take it off and get a friendly blacksmiths to put heat it and put the bend in without kinking it.

Or of course you could always go and buy a short and expensive Alko stabiliser handle ........

Mine already has a bend in it from the manufacturer so that's clearly the fix they applied.

Had a look on google and was supprised by the amount of people who have had the same problem.
Anyway I had a pull on my handbrake lever and now with the play in the mountings I can hold it away from the stabiliser so it misses and to help with that I shall hold it down while towing with a short bungie.
