Hi mjones17
Sorry for delay in reply - got the 2wd version tax is £145 we get 46 mpg solo and mid 30s towing (1450 kg)
Nice car all round - all friends who were counterbalance been impressed with build quality and finish
I would recommend a test drive - you will be surprised!
We had a Kia Carens which towed that admirably and returned 33 to the gallon towing. Present car is a Hyundai I|X|35 which also tows a van of just under 1500kg fine and returns 31 towing.
I tow with a 2011 Mondeo mk4 2.0tdci pulling a pageant weighing in at 1490kgs, plenty of power, stable as a rock, good on fuel averaged from Chester to Saint Jean De Monts 34mpg would I put more weight behind it????? hell yes. Got back today used little over 2 tanks of fuel very pleased, with it only problem which I have seen on a few Mondeos is they do tow very low on the rear end scraping along speed bumps and ferry ramps.
BESSIE Geting something to pull 1500kg is easy getting something to STOP IT or hang onto it on a windy day is much more important .Ive towed allsorts in the last 40 years and my advise is do not exceed the 85% guide and if possible get below it.

Goaty693 I'mrunning at 91% of the cars kerbweight and I'm quite cool with that I've got plenty of years experience and I've held a class 1 license for 25 years.I've also pulled 1500 kgs for the last 4 years and 1560 for 6 months all behind the same car, 1500 kgs comes out at 87%
If you think my outfit is wrong please read the sSkoda superb post...........it beggars belief
Skoda Bob said he saw nothing wrong with running a 1560 caravan behind a 1430 kerbweight car , but he also admitted in his post that he doesn't actually tow anything
