Try a Audi A8 I've had lots of shoguns thought they was unbeatable, got bored of the 4x4 thing but still wanted stability so got the audi and it's brilliant,ok it's still a Quattro but solo on motorway will do 40mpg around streets high 20s ,and it's the best tow car I've ever had
I use my Hyundai iload to tow with and contacted several wardens on the CC sites and they all told me that there is no problem with vans on there sites.
Latest Update i pack up touring in July 2013

But a Landrover Discovery TDI V6 AUTO No problem
Hiya
I realize you've decided to keep the shogun, but maybe for future reference regarding commercial vehicles and sign written vans.
We camped with friends who had a big bright yellow sign written child minders minibus and the use of a big white iveco sign written long wheelbase van with a national delivery firm's details on the sides and in the three years of seasonal camping together, we were only refused once out of at least 40 sites, across Yorkshire and Derbyshire. We always rang up before hand and explained the vehicle situation and the owners were all okay. On a couple of times, we were requested to park in the car park but most of the time there were no problems with advance warning.
I also camp with a friend who tows her caravan with a converted VW transporter van, (windows put in and back seats) and she has never needed to identify the make and model of her vehicle.
Anyhow that's been my experience.
Best wishes Sam
