We like the Passat estate so much we're on our third. We ran the first up to 138k miles with only one electrical fault - some sensor in the gearbox somewhere - and did just under 90k in the second with no reliability issues at all.
Ignore any NOx cries and go for the 2011-on 2.0 TDI (140/150bhp) for 50mpg+ when not towing and £30/year in road tax.
The same as the superb , but the superb has even more room, and the boot space is around a 3rd bigger
