Yep agree with ferrodo, why have two old fashioned 7 pin sockets on the towbar, when you can have a Single 13pin, complete no brainer IMHO.
No matter what you are towing, as that can be easily converted to Single 13pin plug also.
If I go 7N/S I'll never have to use an adapter on anything and I won't need to touch the wires on the fc or any other trailer. Seems the most sensible to me.
However I have been wondering if the advantages of 13pin outweigh this convenience. In this case I can't see that they would. I have been using trailers with 7 pin for 20 years. Yes they need a jiggle now and then but they have worked well.
I like to keep things up to date but not just for the sake of it. If old fashioned makes sense, that's fine with me too. So I was leaning towards 7N/S but I wouldn't say I'm 100%.
I had exactly the same problem and decided to go for 13pin at towbar, because it looks neater I intend to keep the car a good while so if I changed the unit in the future it will probably also have the 13pin socket

I can see your logic and I plan to keep both car and fc for a good many years if all goes well. I'm still torn, I need to ring them to confirm the day and I keep procrastinating. Still leaning towards two 7's. I'll have to bite the bullet soon. I know I can't go too far wrong either way anyway.
