I'm on mmy second CRV 2.2 diesel tows our caravan with ease getting anything between 28 and 35 mpg towing, depending on ambient temperature. Solo some mileage at this time of year between 50 and 54 mpg and in summer up to 62. I live in a rural area and most of my driving is on low traffic density roads. Would I recommend one, yes the 2.2 manual gearbox diesel.
There is some useful info on the internet about tests of the new model with the CVT. Current info isn't encouraging and I will probably have to buy something different when I come to change.
I repeat what an earlier poster said if you are unsure do not part with you hard come cash.
