Ex- police ones often come up on ebay.
policecar
In fact a very powerful one in white has a very strong chance of being ex-police. I have seen one seller say they came with uprated brakes and suspension as standard. The extras also seem to be stripped down a bit. You don't get all the expensive electronics that generally appear on the high end models. Another worry is holes. They often have holes in the trim where radios and things have been screwed in, and marking on the roof with lights etc.
Due to the fuel consumption issue I really wanted a diesel, although I think I've probably given up on one altogether now. I'm currently driving a mitsubishi space wagon with a 2.0, 136 BHP engine and would like something bigger and heavier, as I'm pushing my luck for weight limits.
