New technology is great.......until it goes wrong. My car is 15 years old, yet it has gadgets that weren't even science-fiction not that long ago. It can be fantastic, but there is a part of me that likes to keep things simple. My car has quite sophisticated climate control, but I still remember a time when even a simple heater in a car was an optional-extra.
How often does it go wrong? As a rough count, including work vehicles, I have eight new cars in the last 20 years, only one I have had to take into a garage other than a service. The tech on the modern car if fantastic, as is their reliability, and certainly much, much safer than even five years ago.
Don’t knock the technology on modern cars, it is there for a reason……….Safety! That’s good for me.

Ours is the Ultimate self charging hybrid. We haven't tried the active cruise yet. Impressed with how well they go 230bhp,plug in more.
Our neighbour has the same car bought last year, so has shown us some of the tech. We did get a good handover from the salesman.
We have towed with it after doing 1200 miles, it tows very well.
The Tucson is my second car with Active Cruise Control Dave, I will never have a car without it again. Get to grips with it and you will use it a lot of the time, I reckon I spend 75% of the time with it enabled. From traveling on the Auto Route to the Pyrenees, or pootling in town traffic in a 30 limit, the simple fact that you will not hit the car in front or stray from your lane, makes the whole experience more enjoyable and a whole lot safer. I went to Exeter today, a round trip of 52 miles, I reckon 40-45 miles was using ACC. Plus insurance companies love the technology. 👍. 87mpg outward, 156mpg return journey, never going above the speed limit.
Never forget the biggest cause of accidents……….Humans! Any tech that minimises that, is good for me.
