Self charging hybrids tend to have a higher towing capacity than plug ins.
We tow our Bailey Phoenix with a 23 Hyundai Tucson self charge version.
It tows very well. Ours can tow 1650kg but our van has a max weight below that. The latest version has a lower towing limit.
Mpg yesterday towing was 24.5. Solo we have seen 59mpg.
The one I’m getting has a maximum tow limit of 1600kg. My Baileyy Phoenix + 642 has a MPTLM of 1450kg. We. Can’t wait for the next 2 weeks when we can hopefully get away.
What model do you have? The Kuga hybrids I have looked at only have a 1250kg towing limit
The 2024/25 model is 2100 kg and CVT box. Also as over 40000£ list price the high road tax until 6 years old Earlier models have lover towing capacity,The reason I bought one of the last 2.0 auto diesels as 2100 kg and only 190 road tax.

My wife was looking on our Hyundai dealers website, they also have Kia and KGM ( formerly Ssangyong) dealerships. 20 week wait for a new Kia Sorento.
Not that we are changing yet. Our Tucson is just a year old and has done nearly 6000 miles!
They have an Ineos showroom next to Hyundai. I had a look at the Grenadier which I like. Then I like the LR Defender! A Grenadier would be a good towcar, petrol or diesel.Nicely finished and equipped but pricey.
Our Tucson is the Ultimate hybrid. It was just under £40K.So lower VED Our neighbour has a 24 facelift version, it was over so she has to pay the extra rate.

I had a Kuga years ago and liked it, not sure it would be much good for me now as I don't think it would be a very good match for my 1600kg caravan
The last of the 2.0Ecoblue Kugas with the proper auto boxs 190ps are awesum towcars,in fact I know of an owner that also has one has towed his 1800 kg caravan to Spain and Portugal this year and performed effortless.2100 kg towing capacity. Mine gets 32 to 35 towing and 47 to 53 solo

------------- The worst day fishing is better than the best day working
I read your last post on the 7th you had already picked it up. Interested how it tows as my experience even solo they stay low geared the harder you accelerate as the chain stays low on the input cone with CVT. The new model they have uprated the tow limit, but I cannot find in the trade what they have actually altered to achieve this, May be just sales brochure to encourage caravanners.

Definitley will be interested how it goes as several caravanners have asked, but I cannot give an answer as until one has actually towed. The problem is not being able to fit a towbar on a demo.
