Choose the Vectra DTi, they have cam chains, supposed to last 100,000 miles or more if serviced regulary. That said some 2.2 PETROL engines have been known to snap their chains, but I`ve never heard of a diesel snap one yet. (hope mines not the first fingers crossed)

I know it's not the same, but I have a 2.8 v6 galaxy.When towing I still get good mpg, only 3 or 4 less than normal round town (22 mpg average)

Ignore me if I'm waffling!!

V6 mondeo .. gone

V6 Vectra... gone

Omega estate... poor bodywork & 127000miles. lost interest

laguna estate.. Gone

Mondeo Td   .. 143000 miles..lost interest

the search goes on...

oh well, plenty more fish and all that.

bought a new kitchen though so at least one half of us is happy...

off out with daughter on her first driving lesson on the road now, so wish me luck , might not get to speak to any of you again, not that im not confident in her abilities or owt !!!
