5 people (ones a baby but we havent taken a cot) - even taken windbreak out.

Are these weights ever wrong at the weighbridge?

there is now nothing in the central walkway except a plastic table top.

Only thing in the fridge is 1ltr of milk

All clothes is in cupboards so nothing excessive.

all kids toys have been taken out.

I am really struggling.

The only thing I can now take out is clothes or bedding......

Paul,

I'm sorry, but there must be something far wrong somewhere.
Are you going by the correct weight?
Going by the "6" suffix your van is presumably a 6 berth, so I fail to see how you need to have it almost empty to meet the total weight.

van is a 6 berth - but the weighbridge guys have assured me that there weights are correct. I have 2 small  (half full) 6kg gas bottles and a spare wheel in the front locker. This will be the furthest that we have ever towed therefore I feel a little worried.

Other half is just taking our quilt out and will replace it with a small size - but I really didnt think we would need to go these extremes.

Cant think of anything else to take out so will call again at weighbridge on the way.

BTW - anyone fancy buying an unused Kayak - please let me know as I only bought it for this hols.

Found these details for the Ranger vans

Paul,

Don't know what age your van is, but just checked Bailey's site and the current Ranger 550/6 has a loading margin of 240kg, that's nearly 6cwt in old money!!
As I've already said, there's something far wrong somewhere with your van and the weights you're working with!!

A spare wheel is quite heavy.

Referring to your earlier noseweight problem, you would help that by carrying the spare in an underslung carrier.   However that doesn't help with the present problem.

I take it you did not check the weight previously?  Or have you got more stuff with you this time?

For next time, check the weight of the empty van first (there could be a problem there) then weigh everything as you pack it.  It can be quite an eye-opener to see what it all weighs!

The spare is an option, so that uses up some of the allowance.

Lol, these men!!!!    Not something a woman would do of course!!!!!

Well it's gone all quiet on the weight front, so I take it they must have gone!!
He said it was a 9 hour journey, don't know whether that was including stops, but rather him than me, arriving at a site at 10 o'clock at night, and with 3 kids in tow!!
