I was towing Northbound on the M5 last Sunday. Even at the max. allowed 60mph, it's amazing how many caravans overtook us; a few artic's too!
I remember, some time ago, lorry drivers complaining that motorists often cut in front of them and cause loss of their stopping distance. Well, a few lorry drivers did just that to me. When a long vehicle overtakes me, I wait until he has gone beyond my stopping distance, then flash that he is clear to move in. Some do not wait for that, and sometimes come in too early for safety.
I am sure these people are a minority. To the good lorry drivers, who may also be caravanners and visit this web site, "thanks for your consideration". To the others, "please realise we need the same clear road as yourselves - it is possible that you have contributed to accidents involving caravans by cutting in too soon.
Safe motoring to everyone, regardless of vehicle type.
Bertie.
