All good reading for us - we pick up our brand new Sorento on Friday - so excited.

Got a great deal on it and because we are members of the Caravan Club apparently we get £500 worth of extras free so we are having the towbar fitted by the garage free of charge

Can't wait to have a drive around

Hi bet you are soooo excited and can't wait till Friday.

We have an 55 reg '06 Kia Sorento XT in sport blue.  It is fantastic and very sexy! It has lots of great toys including built in sat.nav.  It tows our twin axle Elddis Crusader Sirocco like a dream and returns good MPG  It is very eye catching and when we are on a site we get a lot of people asking us about it.  We also have a Witter tow bar dealer fitter.

We have had 2 Landrover Discovery's one a 300TDi and a TD5 and they both wasn't reliable and let us down.  They cost us lots to run and seem to spend most of their time at the garage getting fixed.  They were very skitty pulling the van, passing a lorry you had all on keeping hold of the steering wheel.  They couldn't pull an old hen off her nest! We would never get another one but would not hesitate getting another Kia. Bring it on!!!

Hope you enjoy your new Kia as much as we do ours and watch heads turn with envy when you pull on site.

Elaine xx

Thanks Elaine

Got it now and we love it! Can I ask you a question please - as we are CC members we got a £500 voucher towards extras which was a nice surprise as we weren't aware and would have bought it anyway.

You say that you have a witter tow bar dealer fitted - is that the standard Kia one or did you have to order it seperately? Only we are booked in to have a towbar fitted on next Wednesday paid for by our voucher so should we ask for that one? Is it a lot better?

TIA BD x

Hi Baby Daisy - Definately go for the Witter tow bar.  They are a fantastic tow bar and have a greater nose weight limit.  Towsure  do one  but that one is not as strong as the Witter one so obviously the Witter one is the better of the two.  Don't get the standard Kia tow bar.  Our dealer asked us which we preferred then took our Kia to an independent Witter dealer and got it fitted.

Hope that is of some use to you.  Pleased you love your Kia as much as we do.

Elaine xx

Hi we have the witter towbar fitted because we wanted to fit the bike rack onto the towbar.

we have also fitted side steps (for ease of entry and helps keep the side s cleaner)

also Kia do not make long mud flaps for the rear ,necessary for towing.i have fitted a pair of Vauxhall Frontera rear flaps for a 1999 model onwards, perfect, and easy to fit.

Hi Bandpg - My hubby wanted to fit some long mud flaps.  Does the Vauxhall Frontera rear flaps work?  If so we might have to invest in some.

Thanks

Elaine xx

Hi Elaine Vauxhall Frontera rear flaps are perfect and easy to fit ,they also come without the Vauxhall motif on them.

part no for rear flaps is 91126407 cost £16.86 they are made of good strong rubber.

To fit .stand a house brick or something of similar height,at rear of wheel, stand flap on top to give clearance and to keep flap level.mark round bottom of existing flap.remove existing flap (can be done without removing wheel with a right angle screwdriver) line up new and old flap to mark and use old flap as template to drill hole in new. only one new hole is needed to support inside edge of new flap.refit both flaps back onto car .Hope this is some help to you .
