Thanks all for your feedback.
I don't think fitting a drop plate upside down is for me. I believe it would invalidate my insurance.
Tykey, which type of spring assistors did you fit? Were they the rubber type?

i fitted some on my 850 t5r and they worked a treat all i have to do now is take the mudflaps off

is yours the t5 by anychance

Mine is the D5.

I think the spring type are the way to go. Just need to find some at a good price. So far I have only found some at £118 a pair from Graystons.

Lunarjon, are yours the rubber spacer type or spring type?

I'll do it tomorrow

just the rubber type made a big difference tho lifted the car by  1 1/2 inches at the back when the  caravan is on an no difference when the caravan is off i was going down the road of getting the new springs but after getting the assistors i decided against it as there was no need and they were very easy to fit

personally id go for the rubber ones first and see if it makes a difference as they are alot cheaper

Nykey

They did make the car feel different but for the better

They reduced roll on corners without making it a lot firmer

The Picasso ones are really easy to fit unlike the present ones on the X Trail (new model)

You just jack up the car so that the wheel hangs free and they go between the bump stops
