Ahhm He is in fact a She. Which probably accounts for my purchase!! LOL
I would have loved another vectra but with a 4 hour journey including a ferry to get to the central belt of Scotland where there is a choice of vehicles, and only Sat and Sun off work, I had to rely on a friend looking at the car and telling me that it was basically mechanically sound.
Thanks everyone
Norma
PS the worse car I have had was a Ford Estate, was for ever breaking down. Sorry !!

Mondeo 2.0tdci best tow car for money, and has a better towing limit than the octavia.
But the Mondi will be off the road being fixed all the time
I have had my Mondeo 5 years now and the only time it has been off the road for any reason whatsoever was when it has been in for it's anual service. Superbly reliable car and a superb towcar ( the best I have driven in 18.5 years towing and that icludes every 4X4 I have tried )

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
we are changing our car this year we have a cmax 2008.petrol,(dont laugh)we are getting a citron berlingo vtr diesel 90 hp,hope we are making the right choice.
It's a supremely comfortable car with clever 'active' hydro-pneumatic suspension that is. The airy, spacious interior is complemented by cavernous load space in the estate. C5 is well built, well equipped and stands close comparison with Mondeo and Laguna. It's good value too.
You can pick the 2ltr diesel up with less than 60k on the clock for around than £2000.
