Peter has already posted the GVW and GTW which shows a difference of 3500kg so that is not the reason, maybe has something to do with the rear axle loading as the max noseweight when fully loaded is 150kg whereas when driver and one passenger only it is 250kg (apart from the self levelling equiped models which are 250kg at all times). It seems to show the Disco was designed to tow heavy horse boxes, etc as the Rangie only has a noseweight limit of 150kg and has self levelling air suspension. Peter, do you know if the Defenders have similar noseweight limits to your Disco or are they limited to the 150kg?
