We too have a Sprite major 6TD & an Insignia Sportstourer 2.0 CDTI & i've just checked on the logbook & the mass in service weight is 1730kg. So the match would work out fine. As we've had the caravan sited for the last 2 seasons i haven't towed it very far so cannot comment on what it would be like on a motorway etc.. What i do find is that i think the caravan is quite nose heavy as the water heater is at the front under the O/S seat, but i've never measured the nose weight as i said earlier i haven't towed it very far but if i had to tow it any distance i would measure the nose weight.
That's what the drain plugs are for, you drain before you tow
