We have a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso and it has cruise control and it so easy to put the car at 58mph and it tows our caravan great we use it all the time .Next year i am buying a Brand New Seat Altea XL 7 speed auto box, Cruise Control, and i cannot wait .
We have Cruise Control on our V8 Discovery 2, but have never used it, probably as most of our driving is short lengths of road, not long motorways.
While in Holland last month we thought that it might be worth trying, we had the 3.5tonne drawbar turntable trailer behind us, but there was too much traffic to be able to maintain a steady speed and too many trucks in and out of lanes.
Plus I prefer to have manual throttle control with the big trailer on. Solo it might be worth a try.
love cruise control! fab on the motorway, and for the naysayer you still have to accelerate to overtake etc so definately not for the lazy its probably as much work but just far more economical.
I also happen to think driving at a consistent speed on the motor way to be safer.
I am also a fan of the cruise control on my Mondeo. Driving at a constant speed is generally better for fuel efficiency, and it means you don't need to constantly check your speed when there are average speed cameras around. I also sometimes switch it on and keep exactly to the speed limit if someone is right up my backside.
Admittedly it's not something you would use all the time, it depends on road conditions. Plus you still need to change down sometimes when driving uphill, but for general motorway driving when it is not too busy then it is great.
I never had Cruise Control till I got the Mondeo it was something I never wanted, though there were occasions on long trips on the motorways where it would have been nice to move my legs a little. Now on the motorway I use it all the time it makes travelling so much more comfortable. I tend not to use it on ordinary A roads unless it is a long straight road but I would not buy another car without it.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
Wow modern cars are so posh. My old Cavalier has seats, wheels, electric front windows, an electric sunroof and, err, well thats about it. Not even air conditioning. Of all the gizmos and gadgets and whatever air con is the one thing I wished the car had (for those hot sunny days and long trips in the car.) Less to go wrong though!
