Hi lobeydosser i know the dacia is top of your list at the moment and i'm not to sure how much they are, but this could be another option to look at. I've just ordered my wife a brand new 13reg vauxhall zafira 1.6 petrol exclusiv £170 a year tax 7 seats 2 rear ones in the floor, not bad spec aircon electric windows ipod connection ect ect with a lifetime warranty for £10,000 and the service can be done at any vat registered garage.
Zafiras good if you intend to keep for years otherwise steer clear, they recently came bottom of the pile for residual values. IIRC something like 29% after 3 years.
Any heavily discounted car will suffer on residuals but that will usually be based on MRP. If you are getting enough of a discount to start then not such an issue, Vauxhalls and Fords have always been heavily discounted from their full prices by fleet and savvy private buyers
The Zafira i'm getting has 8k off the list price..... if you look in autotrader their are a few 2012 cars for sale at 12k.
Lets face it what brand new 7 seater car can you get for 10k with a lifetime warranty
The lifetime warranty for us could last my wife 's driving life since shes 40 at the moment and only does 3/4 k per year so she should be around 65/70 before the warranty runs out

Ali i'm getting 45% off the list price and yes we will be keeping this car for a long time, at the moment it only used as a second car.
Yeah seen the deals online, insane. Either vastly overpriced to begin with or they are desperate to sell off stock. Not keen on their reliability scores so would never be tempted.
Ali they have loads of them, vauxhall have brought out a new shape called the zafira tourer but are going to continue to make the old shape, for me it ticks the boxes i was looking at spending around 5k for a 6 year old car with 70k on it and no warranty.
ok i've spent a bit more but the car is brand new no tyres or brakes to change for a few years, has lifetime warranty and should give trouble free motoring...... thats esential when your looking after kids.
ali the main issue with the zafira seems to be the DPF and turbo failure, as this is petrol it should fingers crossed be ok, if it aint my wife only does a 3 mile raduis max so she'll have to hit the street
