Yes I think all the other car Manufacturers of diesel cars will not have a lot to say about the VW group but will be having their own sphincter twitch for round two!

It would depend on whether they have been falsifying Co2 emissions which is what we worry about in Europe. VW have been falsifying the Nitrogen Oxide emissions to meet much tougher US standards. Kia/Ford/Volvo do not sell their European diesels in the US presumably because those engines could not meet US standards either.

VW have NOT been falsifying emissions tests.
The tests are conducted with a specific set of conditions, (temperature, engine revs, load etc). VW have designed their engines to pass this test under these conditions.
Does anyone think that if this was Ford, GM or Chrysler there would be the same fuss? I thought not, this is America protecting its own
The real problem is the tests do not bear any resemblance to real life driving conditions.

You never get the quoted figures for economy,so I doubt you will get the quoted emissions especially once the car is a bit older.
Does not excuse their dishonesty though!

Im still here, further info I only affects the bluemotion vehicles, and regardless of if manufactures, quote miles per gallon, me and swmbo, can get from the Scottish borders down to Plymouth and back to Birmingham, on around 50 litres solo, in the Mar 1 superb 130 tdi, we could get there and back 960 miles with about 6 litres left but the mark one had a 70 litre tank we have even filled up in Lyon and made it back without filling

There is now a VIN checker on the Skoda site to confirm whether your skoda is involved. My husband owns a 2013 Octavia and like many others it is a taxi.

GREENLINE model would you believe!
