I've ordered the same towbar on a new volvo, i think its a £1200 optional extra

Wow! I've bought good cars for less.

My Volvo V70 was the last car I actually had a towbar fitted to, and I had a fixed one fitted for around £250 all in. It was 10 or 11 years ago though.

I don't think Volvos have ever been cheap, but I know what you mean. That old Volvo of mine I sold back in 2018 is still MOTd and taxed, according to the DVLA website and it is now 24 years old. Last time I looked it had over 240,000 miles on the clock. It had done 186,000 when I sold it. Volvos are really good cars.

£1,200 for a tow-bar certainly is crazy money. Prices just seem to be getting ridiculous. Price is one of the main reasons why I would never buy a removable tow-ball one, as the difference in price between that and a fixed one is just crazy. And for what? Just so that I can take the tow-ball off whenever I want? I can't really be bothered, and I'd probably forget and just leave it on anyway.
