Hi afraid big no for me - got a santa fe but now in france awaiting new auto gear box. Failed - not even towing at time - waited soooooo long for uk to agree to repair that we had to come home without the car, trailer tent, bikes ect.

We have towed the unit before and not had problems.

Hyundai uk have been the worst ever at showing any compassion, speed of repair -the parts were available and hyundai garage in france were more than able to do the job - uk didnt get act together took week for them to say yes - by this stage  we had already arranged pick up of trailer tent ect via our insurance. If we hadnt then we would all still be there.

Car comming back to main dealer in 2 weeks, new box and then it and our other hyundai will be sold!!! not much point in having 5 year waranty if jobs not done and customer care is non existant.

Just brought a second hand 2010 Santa Fe. Its a Premium model with 4k on the clock. Its already got a factory fitted tow bar. We pick it up on Wednesday and then we are off to Bakewell for a long weekend with the caravan on Friday. I am really looking forward to getting behind the wheel.

Its Onyx Blue in colour and has a Clarion Sat-Nav/Audio/DVD/Bluetooth thingy fitted as well. Never had one before so it will take some getting used to.

Has anyone had any issues with their manual Santa Fe's yet?

Hardly astronomical against a lot of 4x4's out there.  A Disco/ Range Rover from new could depreciate in its first year almost as much as a new Santa Fe is to buy.

At the end of the day, you pay your money and take your choice !  We did and are still really pleased that we got ours.  4k miles so far, excellent mpg and lots of toys !

Up date on the santa fe  - just back from france - auto gear box gone and possible wireing faults also. Going to be in dealers for a while due to thier busy work load ( slightly worrying as they had over a weeks notice of its arrival and had the parts)  and them finding what else may be wrong. Sadly this is the second santa to come into the dealer with related auto problems in as many days.  We have towed with the previous santa model and a sonata with no probs - from what i gather its just the beginning. Hope to get repaired asap as been off the road now for 4 weeks+ then it will be sold. Dont want another holiday ruined - sadly if it had been in the uk it would have been repaired asap

. A note of caution it is not a regular occurance to have repairs done on hyundai in europe they will repair or refurbish so the same warranty is a bit lax. Have been told by customer service that if we are in europe contanct uk an insist on replacemnt parts.

Glad to have tt and bikes back. !!!!!!!!!! Happy camping
