I have the Witter removable tow bar on my Mondeo & the only issue I have is that the bar loops very low at the back so it can also be used on the x sport with the skirt kit. It does mean I have grounded the bar a couple of time, but at least it catches first so it protects the jockey wheel. I have the dedicated wiring loom fitted which detects the electrics & disables the rear sensors & the fog light. It also incorporated the bulb failure within the dashboard display too.
Thanks for the reply Zafiral, ground clearance of the removable bar has been on my mind a lot with this car. I'd like the removabe bar thiugh, I reckon it leaves the car tidier than a fixed bar would.
I'll try to go and see some this weekend otherwise, knowing my luck, I'll make a wrong decision. I always remove the jockey wheel because the site we use has several speed ramps which catch the jockey wheels unless you crawl over them.

I have never had any issues with the jockey wheel grounding, perhaps the towbar protects it by grounding first!!!
The caravan does not slope down too badly, much less than a Peg 514 I saw on site this weekend being towed by a Santa Fe.
What I mean is that the towball is not excessively low, it is the downward loop of the removable bar that is the issue.
