At the end of the day, if we go for a Duster, and we have not test driven it yet, it will be a our car for the next 10 years or so.
By then I doubt if camping will still be our main holiday type of thing as we will both be well into our 70's by then and deck chairs on the Med will have more appeal.
However, at the moment, camping is still enjoyable although pushing a FC over gravel or out of a muddy field is quite beyond our capabilities. So mechanical and electrical aids are a necessity, be that a motor mover or a 4x4.
Had our Test Drive today and we will be ordering our Duster Ambiance this coming week.
It is even better than the brochures suggest and a lot quieter than reviews implied that it would be. By going for the Ambiance, we get the spec we want without the frivolous stuff.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Yes I am hoping that because, the drivetrain is only in 4 wheel drive when it is needed (unless I lock it in 4 wheel drive) I will get the average 53mpg advertised but also the extra oomph when towing that is missing with the Scenic.
On the downside, there does appear to be a 3 month waiting list for these. Still, if I order it now, it should be here for the summer camping season.

Mike who is the garage and where ?
On the Dacia website, they only name our local (???) Arnold Clarke at Dumbarton.
However our local garage is a satellite garage for one in Inverary and that one is a Renault/Dacia/Nissan dealer. As my Dacia will be serviced through my local garage, Terrace Garage, Kilcreggan, that is the one I will buy it through.
Hi Jeff, The Duster has been on sale in Europe and India for about 4 years now so there is plenty of info and videos on the net and youtube.
I would advise a good look before you aproach AC as I have found that I could tell the sales people more about the Dacia Range than what they knew.
As Renault own Dacia and Nissan, the Duster is engined by Renault, has the drive train of the Nissan and most of the controls of the Clio. All tried and provan systems.
